After I shared these super easy no-bake peanut butter protein bars on my IG story I had so many requests for a mini tutorial/breakdown of how I make them – I recently just got into cooking/baking towards the mid-end of last year & we love a night time sweet treat so these were the perfect thing to get my feet wet in the wild + slightly overwhelming world of pinterest recipes. I also love that the ingredients are so simple + you probably have most of these items in your pantry already.
1 cup butter on margarine – melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup rolled oats
1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup protein powder
1 cup creamy peanut butter
CHOCOLATE TOPPING –
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
Combine the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, oats, powdered sugar, protein powder + peanut butter into a large mixing bowl. Mix all the ingredients together + press the dough into a pan lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 10 minutes. Melt the chocolate chips + 1/2 cup of peanut butter for 30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each. Pull dough from the freezer + top with melted chocolate, spread evenly. Set in the refrigerator/freezer for 1-2 hours. Store in the refrigerator for softer bars + freezer for slightly more solid bars. Slice + enjoy!
